Speech Language Pathologist
Schedule:
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; 8:00am - 4:30pm
Weekend rotation:
None required

Position Summary The Speech Language Pathologist position assesses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in order to help individuals enhance their ability to communicate and swallow safely.
Position Responsibilities
Perform direct patient care: assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Complete patient documentation, including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress reports, and discharge reports.
Contact insurance companies regarding benefits.
Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions.
Provide education to staff, including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers, regarding results and recommendations following evaluations and providing guidance based on the most up-to-date research.
Create in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
Collaborate with healthcare providers in order to provide patient-centered treatment.
Clean treatment rooms following sessions.
Provide reminder calls to patients.
Aid patients and families in navigating the hospital.
Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements
Professional degree in speech language pathology required.
Masters degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.
Eligible for Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in the state of WI.
Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist license.
Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
Must maintain BLS certification.
1+ years of related work experience preferred. Experience in a hospital setting a plus.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
Strong assessment and planning skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
