Field Clinical Research Specialist (RN)
Expanding a cardiovascular medical device portfolio, we need an experienced Clinical Research Nurse (RN) to support field‑based clinical studies across the Midwest/Great Lakes region.
Overview You will manage clinical study sites, provide case support for patients with acute de‑novo heart failure, ensure adherence to study protocol, and develop site‑specific enrollment initiatives. This is a customer‑facing, field‑based role with up to 50‑75% travel and a remote home office component.
Responsibilities
Provide case support for in‑patient treatment of patients diagnosed with acute de‑novo heart failure (ADHF).
Deliver study protocol and technical training to investigators, research partners, and nursing teams.
Develop site‑based enrollment strategies to achieve enrollment goals.
Maintain frequent contact with investigators and research coordinators via email, phone, and on‑site visits.
Communicate study status and site feedback to internal and external partners.
Assist in control of investigational device allocation, distribution, and reconciliation.
Oversee activities performed by clinical vendors (e.g., CRO, core laboratory).
Refer to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and study management processes for guidance on everyday study tasks.
Operate independently from a remote home office while traveling up to 50‑75% for site visits, conferences, and training.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years in clinical research, clinical nursing, or a related field.
Valid, unencumbered RN license in a cardiovascular or critical care setting.
Experience in clinical study site management, GCP, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
Background in heart failure, cardiology, critical care, or medical sales support.
Proficiency in remote work with significant travel (50‑75%) for site visits and case support.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Travel & Remote Work Remote base location with travel up to 50‑75% throughout the Midwest/Great Lakes region. Must reside close to a major airport in the region.
