"Practice of professional nursing" means the performance of acts requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skill based on applied principles of psychology, biology, physical and social sciences, including: (a) Observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of ill, injured, or infirm; promotion of wellness and prevention of illness. (b) Administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. (c) Supervision and teaching of other personnel in nursing acts. The Registered Nurse implements the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family. Clinical Judgement
Utilize policies, procedures, guidelines, and reliable methods to make clinical practice decisions. Independently develop, implement, evaluate, and modify clinical practice using formal knowledge, critical thinking, and nursing skills. Collect and interpret complex patient data with clinical events to meet patient and family needs. Recognize and respond to dynamic situations; exercise clinical judgment for the patient population in the assigned area. Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, seek expert consultation, and delegate as appropriate using evidence-based guidelines. Clinical Inquiry

Work with patients, families, and Associates to promote goals across the continuum. Participate in team meetings and discussions regarding patient care and practice issues. Engage in intra- and inter-professional work with colleagues and the community. Participate in nursing/hospital governance, councils, committees, and initiatives to improve practice and outcomes. Utilize resources to plan and provide safe, effective, and financially responsible nursing services. Develop and apply strategies across the continuum of care driven by patient and family needs. Contribute to the development and revision of standards of care policies and procedures. Facilitation of Learning
Identify educational needs and facilitate learning for patients, families, Associates, and the community. Assess readiness to learn and use evidence-based patient teaching plans. Seek mentorship for professional growth; serve as a mentor, coach, or preceptor as unit needs require. Job Requirements
ASN required Active Florida or multi-state RN license required National certification in area of clinical specialty (preferred) Minimum of 6 months RN experience required; pediatric experience preferred Pre-employment Requirements
Valid American Heart Association BLS certification (valid for 90 days post start date). Valid American Heart Association PALS and ACLS. #LI-MM1
