Integrative Medicine Physician – Novant Health Cancer Institute
Charlotte, NC
Novant Health Cancer Institute’s Integrative Medicine Clinic is growing to meet strong patient demand and is seeking a fellowship-trained Integrative Medicine physician (MD or DO) to join our thriving team in Charlotte, NC.
This is a unique opportunity to practice in a nationally accredited cancer program that combines advanced oncology care with evidence-informed integrative therapies. Our clinic emphasizes whole-person, patient-centered care and offers physicians the chance to shape program growth, lead innovation, and collaborate within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
In addition to clinical care, the position includes opportunities to teach fellows, residents, and medical students.
While the majority of patients are seen in the context of cancer care, approximately 10% of the clinic’s patients are treated for other complex chronic diseases, such as fibromyalgia, long COVID, chronic pain syndromes, intractable migraine headaches and others.

Nutrition and lifestyle medicine
Physical activity and exercise prescriptions
Mind–body medicine, stress reduction, and mindfulness practices
Sleep health optimization
Selective use of botanicals and supplements
Our services Our services include:
Individualized integrative medicine consultations
Guidance on the safe and effective use of botanicals and supplements provided by our licensed Integrative Pharmacists
Acupuncture and massage therapy provided by our licensed practitioners
Exercise and nutritional recommendations customized for each patient to practice at one of our three Wellness Centers or the patient’s own home
Psychosocial support provided by licensed therapists and social workers through our Kemp Bessant Cancer Support Center
Collaboration with oncology and other specialty teams to enhance treatment tolerance, quality of life, patient satisfaction and survivorship outcomes
Patient population
Primarily oncology patients
~10% with complex chronic conditions (fibromyalgia, long COVID, chronic pain, migraines)

1.0 FTE (Full-Time) – Part-Time Considered
Integrative Medicine clinic hours are M-F, 8am to 5 pm. Closed evenings, weekends and major holidays
No after-hours call responsibilities or coverage duties
Outpatient-focused practice with strong interdisciplinary collaboration
Opportunities for teaching fellows, residents, and medical students
Support from advanced practice providers, allied health practitioners and integrative team members
EPIC HER with AI scribe (DAX-Copilot) and other integrated AI tools
Applicant Requirements
MD or DO, graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program
Fellowship training in Integrative Medicine (required)
Board certification in a primary specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, etc.)
Board certification in Integrative Medicine desirable but not required
Active medical license in North Carolina
Residency in Charlotte, NC, or willingness to relocate
Oncology experience preferred but not required
