Summary
Under the direction of the Quality and Compliance Manager, the Quality Engineer III is responsible for applying advanced theory and practical application to maximize overall product quality, focusing on customer experience and continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions
Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to improve process quality, identifying and removing causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes.
Leverage CMM experience (programming, setup, operation, optimization, troubleshooting) to support dimensional control.
Define and distinguish continuous improvement models (TQM, Six Sigma, theory of constraints).
Lead development of product and process control methods, including review and approval of control plans and critical control points.
Lead activities in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Product Part Approval Process (PPAP), and corrective action processes (root cause analysis, verification of effectiveness).
Participate in Quality Strategic Planning (QSP), Cost of Quality, and measurement activities to strengthen quality performance analysis.
Represent quality engineering for specific customer accounts, supporting audits, complaints, and business reviews.
Support ISO 9001, AS9100, and other regulatory activities as required by Quality Management.
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience.
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Strong knowledge of APS, APQP, PPAP, and Six Sigma tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and Minitab.
Experience in aerospace industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred.
Work Environment
Air‑conditioned office with desks or cubicles; teamwork, continuous improvement culture, business‑casual attire. Physical activities include running a computer for extended periods, standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lb.
Travel
Approximately 20 % of travel is expected.
