Nature of Work This position encompasses all areas of industrial engineering—including labor modeling, plant layout, costing, and operational efficiency. This position works with the Plant Operations, Sales, Program Management, and Finance.
Examples of Work Performed
Work closely with Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineers
Perform labor analysis and optimization to improve plant efficiency
Audit plants for standards alignment
Work with a collaborative team to design best in class manufacturing environment
Develop automation addressing value add process and material storage and movement
Validate concepts by evaluating labor and overhead save to justify automation investment
Utilize simulation tools to optimize process with focus on throughput, flexibility, and uptime
Build digital twin models to further evaluate process and optimize material flow
Work with equipment group to understand financial returns for automation concepts
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excel, PowerPoint, Word to perform calculations and present findings in a concise manner
AutoCAD for 2D layouts
BasicMOST and MaxiMOST labor evaluation techniques a preferred. Will provide training if other labor techniques are currently used
Hands on individual comfortable in manufacturing environment
Knowledge of financial analysis (IRR, NPV, Payback)
Understanding of cost modeling inputs
Simulation experience
Familiarity with equipment specifications and footprint planning
Motivated to initiate and implement tasks, strategies, and techniques in a goal-oriented manner to increase productivity and profitability
Technically creative with an understanding of manufacturing to provide solutions in a robust and economical manner
Organized and flexible in work functions allowing for dedicated, multitasking, and task interrupted duties
Analytical and decisive to define, evaluate and solve problems in an organized process
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to collaborate in team environments while maintaining individual duties effectively
Communication across cross functional groups
Ability to travel up to 30% to plant sites
Time management skills to meet deliverable milestones
Minimum Qualifications
Industrial and/or Manufacturing Engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing role at an automation site
