Manage projects and service assignments as needed Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customers Work with customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for installation and repair tasks Assist with organizing and scheduling upcoming field work Provide technical support in field operations Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions Install, maintain and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems) Operate mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems using conventional and trunked radio technologies Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers Provide hands-on oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation; analyze diagnostic test results to repair and program radios and wireless equipment Deliver and execute customer FATP, perform and document site surveys and assessments per defined requirements Make minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer requests and/or deploy factory software/firmware updates Train and coach field service technicians and installers Some travel and on-call may be required Help with other projects as assigned Qualifications
5+ years of leadership experience in technical management in the wireless industry, or similar Experience developing, qualifying, and directing new business opportunities through customer interface and requirements gathering Knowledge of and experience with a network of vendor resources Experience managing complex project implementations Understanding of business practices P&L responsibility Excellent customer relationship skills Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics and various frequency bands Technical leadership experience with wireless solutions and multiple 2-way radio technologies Degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience; combination of education and professional experience acceptable Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Security clearance is a plus Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance Background checks may include Motor Vehicle check Benefits
