A leading provider in the machine tool industry is looking for a
CNC Field Service Engineer
to support customers across the U.S. You'll install, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of CNC machinesworking independently and as part of a high-performing service team.
What You'll Be Doing
Travel to customer sitesoften on short noticefor service calls Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on CNC machines Install and align machine tools Perform first-time power-up and servo system tuning Rebuild and retrofit machine tool subassemblies Use precision test equipment for diagnostics and calibration Train customers on CNC control systems and operation Dismantle and prepare machines for shipment Document service activity and submit reports/expenses Assist and mentor junior technicians Communicate directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams Maintain a clean, organized work area Other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
10+ years of experience servicing CNC 5-Axis machine tools in the field Associate's degree in electronic engineering or equivalent experience Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Strong understanding of CNC controls, ladder logic, and parametric programming Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Intermediate computer skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods Willingness to travel up to 100% Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Bonus Points For
Experience with Renishaw Ballbar or Laser Calibration equipment Scraping/fitting of machine tool components CNC programming or applications knowledge
