Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer
to lead and manage critical water and wastewater projects throughout
Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas . This position offers the opportunity to
direct a growing Water/Wastewater team , contribute technical expertise, and manage high-profile projects for municipalities and regional agencies across Texas. You’ll be responsible for guiding projects from
concept through construction , ensuring technical and financial success, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with clients and regulatory agencies. About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and management of
water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and distribution/collection systems . Establish project sequencing, create
Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) , and oversee projects from inception to completion. Manage multiple projects concurrently, coordinating across teams, clients, and sub-consultants. Oversee
regulatory compliance, quality control systems, and infrastructure rehabilitation . Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff to deliver projects on time and within budget. Prepare
plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and permits
for design projects. Collaborate with CAD teams to coordinate detailed drawings. Support business development by
preparing proposals, marketing materials, and client presentations . Partner with the finance team on fee proposals, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting. Travel occasionally between
Austin and San Antonio
for project needs. Required Qualifications
Education:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field (M.S. preferred). Experience:
10+ years in water/wastewater engineering (8+ with M.S.). Licensure:
Licensed
Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas , held for at least 3 years. Leadership:
Proven ability as a design lead or project manager. Technical Expertise:
Design and construction of water/wastewater treatment facilities, collection/distribution systems, and rehabilitation projects. Software:
Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and water/wastewater analysis tools. Soft Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications
Local experience with
City of Austin, Travis County, Bexar County, SAWS, San Antonio River Authority , and other Texas municipalities/agencies. TxDOT pre-certifications. What We Offer
