Industrial Material Supervisor
to support our client's growing team. This is a W-2 full-time Direct Hire position based in the Greater Frankfort, KY area. We offer competitive pay based on experience, education, location, etc., and provide full benefits, PTO, and a strong company culture. Responsibilities
Coordinate production team approvals of supplier owned and in-process packaging, material presentation equipment, and in-plant handling procedures. Confirm packaging functionality to form, fit and function Obtain packaging forms approval at the plant Support returnable containerization (convert cardboard to returnable dunnage) Manage external warehousing and logistics service providers (supporting part re-pack, rustproofing, container repair, dunnage washing, and long-term part storage) Collaborate with teams, operators, Material Handling and other teams to improve workstation material delivery and presentation Replace/repair owned damaged containers Develop layout proposals for unique operations or line rebalances Specify, purchase, and coordinate the installation of MH linefeed equipment Complete cost studies, capital improvement budget projects, forecast packaging costs, MH equipment requirements, floor space effect, material flow impact, and FPS/SMF system support Support new model programs, stockpiling, and capacity alternative planning Plant CMMS3 packaging data administrator. Confirm supplier packaging information for accuracy in CMMS Participate in local ergonomics committee to correct ergonomic and safety packaging issues and concerns Participate with PMHV committee for improvement in safety and traffic flow Initiate corrective actions to alleviate part quality concerns related to dunnage or handling Address supplier compliance issues Participate in SMF planning team supporting lean manufacturing continuous improvement Dunnage storage and return strategy Stockpile storage, part preservation Packaging supplies specifications Single point of contact for issuing department purchase orders, RFQs, and payment approvals Act as liaison between plant and suppliers to resolve packaging quality concerns and advise suppliers to comply with guidelines Manage container and material handling maintenance projects Review MP&L manpower and operations to identify and implement efficiencies Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing – automotive preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar required – or 10 years equivalent experience Bachelor of Science in Material Handling or Packaging Engineering degree preferred Experience and knowledge of packaging guidelines and packaging processes Knowledge of Lean Production System Knowledgeable on CPARS and able to write purchase orders for the department Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook) Working Conditions
Primarily based in a manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to high temperatures, molten metal, noise, and industrial equipment Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and walk through all areas of the plant Equal Employment Opportunity
