This is a full-time position based in Stow, Ohio, for a Heavy Highway Construction Estimator. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates from drawings and specifications, submitting competitive bids for paving projects, coordinating bid submissions, and collaborating with project management post-award. Experience in heavy highway construction and Ohio Department of Transportation projects is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review proposals, plans, and specifications; attend pre-bid meetings; conduct site visits to determine scope and estimate requirements. Prepare quantity take-offs, solicit quotes, and develop project schedules. Submit bid documents and pricing in Heavy Bid software. Manage client document changes and work orders to keep projects within budget. Recommend cost-saving measures. Maintain safety standards in the work environment. Assess project risks in collaboration with senior management. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience managing or estimating on public and private construction projects. Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to estimate multiple projects efficiently. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Experience analyzing Department of Transportation drawings. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating and Bluebeam Software preferred. Benefits
