Responsibilities
Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians
Manage diverse and challenging projects across our portfolio of design services and EPC programs
Oversee design quality, budget, and schedule
Support client interaction, proposals, and business development
Develop and manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines for assigned projects
Actively manage project changes directly with the Client in coordination with the Project Manager
Review lower level engineering work, coordinate multi-discipline activities, and may serve as engineer of record for assigned projects
Foster good working relationships with project leadership, design teams, and support staff
Communicate client interests to the project team and address concerns in project execution
Travel occasionally to support site visits, design reviews, and client meetings
Ensure compliance with Black & Veatch quality program and client/industry standards
Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to team members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
Minimum 11 years related work experience
Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR, as applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) or design services overhead transmission line projects for investor-owned utilities in the United States
11 years of design experience for high voltage overhead transmission lines; knowledge of PLS-CADD, line routing, structural loading, foundation design, and project lifecycle
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with clients to grow relationships
Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary project coordination (procurement, subcontract administration, permitting, real estate/land acquisition, construction support)
Working knowledge of the proposal process and engineering estimates
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license highly preferred
Work Environment
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days
Occasional travel to client sites
