Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspection and Compliance Monitoring: Conduct field inspections of industrial, commercial, construction and residential sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Inspect facilities for adherence to air quality, water quality, hazardous waste management, and other environmental standards based on the practice area. Monitor construction and development projects for compliance with environmental permits and mitigation plans. Communicate with onsite personnel to relay site findings, concerns, recommendations, or project designs.
Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze environmental samples, including soil, water, air, and biological specimens. Use monitoring equipment to measure environmental parameters such as pollutant levels and noise levels. Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, sample collections, photographs, and monitoring activities.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions. Document violations and prepare notices of non-compliance or enforcement actions. Assist in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance reports. Be proficient in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards. Knowledge of the Ohio EPA Construction General Permit (OHC00006), and construction Best Management Practices as described in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Rainwater and Land Development Manual. Provide guidance to businesses, developers, and the public on environmental compliance requirements or design criteria.
Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and planners to address environmental issues and develop mitigation strategies.

Education: High School Degree
Experience: None, entry-level
Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Knowledge of construction techniques, soils, stormwater runoff. Knowledge of the Ohio EPA Construction General Permit (OHC00006), and construction Best Management Practices as described in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Rainwater and Land Development Manual.
Desired Skills

Work Environment
We value collaboration as a team and expect great communication, but work very independently in the field as inspectors with minimal supervision. Frequent day travel; you are home each evening unless out-of-town work is scheduled. Outdoor work in varying weather, in city/residential neighborhoods, and sometimes in remote locations. We would love to learn more about your work experience and strengths.
This position is a remote hybrid role, meaning employees will work remotely from the field or home, but may come into the Stow, Ohio office to retrieve/return their company vehicle or on an as-needed basis for training and to report collaboration in the office.
Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods; repeat motions of wrist, hands, and fingers; light work moving objects up to 20 lbs; ability to see, read, write, and speak; daily standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching; capable of working outdoors in all kinds of weather; walking on uneven terrain; occasional weekend and out-of-town travel.
