Position Title Fire Protection Integration Engineer

Job Description Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Fire Protection Integration Engineer opportunity.

Responsibilities

Coordinate input and requirements from the Engineering and Project teams to support production of the fire hazard analysis and related design and analysis input.

Ensure that fire protection licensing and code requirements are clearly established and implemented in the design.

Review and develop fire protection design bases for nuclear island structures, with consideration for extreme fire hazards such as seismic-induced fires, large-area sodium fires, wildfires, and fires within sodium-containing structures.

Support and review plant design cost studies and engineering decisions.

Coordinate checking and integrated design reviews, including in-process cross-discipline work, for fire protection work products.

Research and develop risk-informed, performance-based methodologies for fire protection design and analyses.

Support monitoring and appraisal of design organizations, partners, contractors, and subcontractors’ performance to ensure that all technical requirements for the design are effectively and correctly implemented.

Coordinate and lead planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for fire protection design activities.

Support design reviews and resolution of cross-functional technical concerns.

Support the integration of plant information into fire protection licensing basis and regulatory submittal documents that support the licensing of nuclear facilities under the Licensing Modernization Project.

Support fire protection licensing activities associated with Licensing Applications.

Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify efficiency/enhancement opportunities.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent, or higher.

10+ years of fire protection design and analysis experience.

Ability to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems.

Strong analytical/problem solving skills, creative thinker.

Experience in Fire Protection Program development and implementation.

Experience in multi-discipline and multi-organization design integration required.

Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.

Ability to handle projects with many competing objectives and design constraints, and resolve conflicts between objectives.

Ability to work on simultaneous tasks requiring a multi-disciplinary approach.

Experience working to quality standards on design activities, such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.

Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, display respect, and foster teamwork.

Job Type: Contract

Pay Rate Range: $67-110/hr

Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite)
