Job Overview

The Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Laboratories, raw material suppliers, and equipment manufacturers. It is responsible for development & industrialization activities for a high precision, high bandwidth product base. Short Description

Process Development, Implementation, and Documentation – Tape, Cable, Braid Assist other areas of cable manufacturing as required Support Product Development and Design Engineering activities Coordinate with test labs on process/product qualification activities – DOE, PFMEA, 8D, FA Tooling Specification & Design Product / Process Validation & Transfer Support additional manufacturing sites Engage with industry OEMs to develop and improve equipment, material, and tooling performance and quality Support SAFE and ISO activities Provide technical support for maintenance activities Candidate Background

Preferred: Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering Degree Experience level: Mid to advanced depending on candidate Minimum 5 years of wire & cable process engineering experience Working knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies CAD experience required Knowledge of industrial drives & controls, including ladder logic, is a plus Understanding of materials, processes, and systems used in wire & cable manufacturing Willingness to travel approximately 30% internationally Company Overview
