Responsibilities
Implement and maintain employee health policies and procedures in alignment with AH System goals, regulatory standards, and best practices.
Manage and evaluate annual medical surveillance programs, organize, interpret, and review diagnostic tests to ensure employees are medically fit for essential job functions.
Review and verify documentation to confirm employees meet medical requirements; refer for further evaluation as needed.
Provide initial evaluation and treatment for work-related injuries and illnesses in accordance with AH system protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with treating providers, supervisors, workers' compensation carriers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely return-to-work plans and prevent recurrence of injury.
Coordinate investigations of employee exposures to communicable diseases and ensure proper follow-up, documentation, and reporting.
Monitor trends in employee injuries and illnesses; conduct regular reviews and present findings, patterns, and prevention strategies to leadership.
Oversee immunization programs, tuberculosis screening, and substance abuse testing in accordance with organizational and system policy and public health guidelines.
Coordinate reasonable accommodations or job modifications for employees with medical restrictions.
Review return-to-work documentation for employees recovering from illness or injury and obtain additional information from providers when necessary.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records in compliance with regulatory requirements and policies.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and disseminate updated practices to staff and leadership.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing: Required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Preferred
One year relevant experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice: Required
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification: Required
Certified Occupational Health Nurse certification: Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent: Required
Essential Functions
