Veterinary Extern - General Practice

1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicants An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers students a unique opportunity to understand the daily operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. While each NVA hospital is unique, they all share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners. Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical examinations, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing medical cases. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to develop their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Our team is diverse and growing daily with new DVMs joining us. We would love for you to extern with us. Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at

South Bay Veterinary Hospital

are only available to students in their final year of veterinary school. Veterinary students in the

clinical portion
