Salary Range: $56.98 – $70.99
New Hire Bonus: $10,000 distributed in increments (Date of hire: $2,500; 6 months: $5,000; 1 year: $2,500)
Responsibilities
Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents. Order as authorized and confirm accuracy of delivery.
Assist current and new employees with system, equipment, and departmental policies and procedures.
Recognize equipment problems/malfunctions and perform preventive maintenance.
Greets registered patients, triages through patient flow, and assists with walking, transfers, dressing, and preparation for exam.
Review and verify patient identity, history, and requisition for exam.
Take appropriate scans to determine areas of pathology.
Process and archive images in accordance with established procedures.
Input patient history into the practice management system and scan relevant documentation.
Ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile environment with standard infection control precautions.
Set up physiological monitoring and stimulus delivery equipment (if applicable).
Explain procedure to patients and answer questions during scan.
Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Qualifications
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
Approximately 2 years of experience as an MRI technologist.
Graduate of an approved school of radiography.
Experience as a registered technologist in another radiology modality may be applicable.
Licenses & Certifications
Current, active and unrestricted New York State License in Radiographic Technology (R).
ARRT (MR) Certification.
NYS Intravenous Contrast Administration Certification – required within one year of hire date.
BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands This position requires occasional lifting of equipment and patients. The role may require working on weekends and evenings and flexibility for shifting schedules.
