Overview

Rogers Behavioral Health is a not-for-profit behavioral health system with a long history. For over 100 years we have been providing top quality psychiatric services to our patients and performing cutting edge research. RBH offers adults, as well as child and adolescent patients, access to care at multiple levels of services including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient services. The three primary hospitals are located in Wisconsin, with additional clinics across Wisconsin and 9 other states (California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Washington). In this role, with the support of a collaborating physician, the provider will primarily serve as a hospitalist in our inpatient and residential departments, working alongside our psychiatric providers in a multi-faceted treatment team model of care. Schedule:

This role is Monday through Friday evenings (preferred schedule 5pm-1am, flexible) and includes one weekend per month. Responsibilities

Attend patients at the site and assist with patient coverage at assigned locations, which may include multiple locations, multiple levels of care, or providing virtual services within the scope of AHP licensure. Conduct medication management sessions with patients. Conduct patient medical evaluations and assessments. Conduct history and physical examinations. Create patient treatment plans and manage updates. Perform patient and family education. Participate in team and unit meetings. Create discharge plans. Participate in the established call schedule and take emergency call for medical care units. Round on patients as assigned and serve on hospital committees as assigned. Coordinate care for patients transferring to or from other hospitals for medical needs. Read EKGs and other medical diagnostic tests. Complete all charting and documentation within 24 hours. Serve as attending AHP for assigned units. Monitor all labs and diagnostic tests for current and discharging patients. Communicate with emergency room or other providers when transferring care. Conduct follow-up visits with patients with chronic diseases. Provide hospitalist and primary care consultation services as needed. Provide 24-hour a day coverage for patients. Meet patient productivity standards and complete all coding and documentation in compliance with organizational expectations. Payor Relations

Assist in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all contracted payors. Review denials of service from payors deemed medically unfounded. Interface with referring parties, psychiatrists, primary care physicians or AHPs to coordinate care and aftercare. Market the Employer as appropriate, including off-site meetings and marketing activities. Review potential admissions, pending cases, and declined admissions to ensure policy execution and EMTALA compliance. Advocate

Serve as an advocate for the organization. Provide support, information, education and services to the Employer. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and meetings. Identify new program development opportunities for patient care services and the Employer. Participate in community education on behavioral health issues. Additional Job Description

Physical/Mental Demands: Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflict. Use initiative and judgement to organize activities, formulate policies, delegate responsibility and make decisions affecting diagnosis and treatment of patients. Ability to relate to people to gain confidence and establish rapport. Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions, programs and job details. Verbal and hearing ability to interact with patients and employees; numerical ability to maintain records and operate a computer. Ability to read and communicate through written, verbal and auditory skills. Physical requirements: walking, sitting and standing; work is generally light; lifting up to 20 pounds; manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Physically/mentally able to perform job duties as verified by a physical exam by a licensed AHP. Education/Training Requirements

Be licensed in the state of Wisconsin as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. Board-eligible AHP; board certification preferred. Graduate of an accredited college or university. Successful completion of required practical training as required by graduating educational institution and licensing body in primary care medicine. Two to four years of experience working as a hospitalist provider in another licensed hospital, preferred. Leadership and/or supervisory experience in a behavioral health organization is preferred. Experience with process improvement implementation preferred. Additional Credentials:
