Plant Manager role at IMH Products in Prophetstown. Exempt position reporting to the President. Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the plant, aligning day-to-day operations with long-term business objectives. Safety and Compliance:
Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Operational Efficiency:
Implement innovative approaches to enhance overall operational efficiency, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or challenges that may impede productivity. People and Talent:
Identify and nurture high-potential employees, creating pathways for internal promotion and long-term retention. Performance Standards:
Establish and enforce clear performance standards, fostering accountability and providing constructive feedback. Discipline and HR Collaboration:
Address performance issues with structured coaching and corrective action plans; work with HR to ensure fair disciplinary procedures. Culture:
Promote respect, professionalism, teamwork and accountability in conduct, work ethic and job performance. Resource Management:
Strategically coordinate resource allocation across departments to meet production schedules and optimize utilization. Training & Hiring:
Oversee training programs for operational staff and collaborate with HR on hiring plans aligned to goals. Operational Oversight:
Use analytics to monitor performance metrics, report findings and implement improvements. Proactive Problem Solving:
Anticipate challenges and develop solutions to maintain efficiency and productivity. Continuous Improvement:
Lead initiatives to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and optimize production planning; develop contingency plans for disruptions. Process Optimization:
Identify technologies for optimization and automation; drive lead-time reductions and manufacturing agility. Quality Assurance:
Partner with Quality and Engineering to ensure ISO 9001 compliance and continuous improvement of quality systems. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a senior operations role within metal fabrication or a related industry. Proven ability to lead, coach and drive teams toward operational excellence with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement. Demonstrated success in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth understanding of quality control standards and safety regulations in metal fabrication. Strategic thinker with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in fast-paced manufacturing environments. High attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
