Plant Manager – Gary, IN
We are currently seeking a Plant Manager to lead a Pack & Ship Distribution Center in Gary, IN. The Plant Manager will oversee daily operations, supervise site management staff, and work directly with team leaders and operators to ensure products are packed, shipped, and delivered efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
Oversee day‑to‑day distribution center operations, including vendor relations, maintenance, inventory, and shipping.
Lead and develop supervisors and site leadership to achieve operational goals.
Partner with HR and training teams for staffing, onboarding, and performance management.
Drive safety initiatives to reduce hazards and ensure compliance.
Analyze production and labor efficiency reports to identify and act on opportunities for improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and cross‑functional departments.
Qualifications
5–7 years of experience in manufacturing or distribution operations.
At least 4 years in a leadership role managing people.
Strong background in distribution, operations, and safety management.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience in the steel industry and bilingual in Spanish are a plus.
