Overview
Manager, Strategic Sourcing at Raymond James. The role involves overseeing procurement strategies and tactics, negotiating and redlining contracts for a focused area of products and services, ensuring business requirements are fulfilled, mitigating risks, and optimizing value across business units. Responsible for development and implementation of sourcing strategies, supply market intelligence, and new or renewed contracts for their area. Mentors subordinates in performing difficult assignments and resolves escalated issues. Responsibilities
Coordinates procurement (sourcing and contracting) for one or more specialized category or service areas (Subscription-Based Agreements and Market Data are preferred). Develops and leads cross-functional teams through category strategy development, supplier sourcing, contract/negotiation strategy development, and supplier negotiation processes. Participates in joint meetings with internal business clients to assist in procurement forecasting, demand management, requirements development, and identification of purchasing channels and sources. Assists internal business clients with developing and reviewing contracts, statements of work, service level agreements, and specific contractual terms and conditions. Maintains technical and industry knowledge for the category(s) under management. Identifies, prequalifies, and recommends potential alternative sources of supply. Seeks opportunities to identify and manage off-contract spend and rationalize suppliers for greater leverage. Develops and manages the execution of initiatives including data gathering and analysis, requirement development, supplier qualification, RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, evaluation of responses, negotiation strategies, supplier negotiations, contract review and redlining, and preparing recommendations. Builds and maintains profiles of supply market and key current and potential suppliers. Performs detailed analysis of agreements to support business operations and develops flexible contractual pricing models considering inflation, currency, scope changes, and risk mitigation. Drafts contracts and recommends terms that minimize risk and maximize profitability; ensures terms meet company standards and financial regulations. Documents negotiation results and maintains all finalized contracts; prepares approval memoranda and secures necessary approvals. Captures and applies lessons learned; acts as a point person in resolving supplier quality and service level issues. Maintains awareness of changes in sourcing, contract management, finance, negotiating skills, and law to implement improved methods. Decides on evaluation, selection, development, and retention of suppliers. Reviews strategies and decisions with the Director of Procurement and senior management periodically. Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, Supply Chain, with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in strategic sourcing and contracts management. Or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources. Licenses/Certifications
None required; Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar preferred Education
