Drive growth within the science and technology market by researching, developing, and executing strategic business development plans. Build and strengthen transformative client relationships and position the company as a trusted partner for innovative science and technology projects (including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, research institutions, and advanced manufacturing). Collaborate with the Director of Science & Technology to align business development strategies with market trends, client needs, and company goals. Define and track KPIs such as client acquisition rate, proposal win rate, and revenue growth from strategic accounts. Develop, implement, and refine a Business Development Plan in partnership with the regional GM and other company leadership. Establish and maintain a network of clients, partners, and community contacts; maintain CRM data with quality information and activities on clients and opportunities. Work with marketing, project management, preconstruction, estimating, and superintendents to develop integrated proposals and scopes of work. Lead winning strategies for top project pursuits, identifying differentiators and key staff; hand off opportunities to project teams at appropriate stages. Represent Knutson at professional and community organizations and build strong relationship plans with top clients and owners. Lead the development of RFP responses and participate in interview preparation and process; track and follow up on submitted proposals. Support diversification goals, client goals related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in project development and relationship management. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives and client engagement. Relationship Building + Client Management
Deliver The Knutson Experience and manage the client satisfaction program for the Science & Technology market. Maintain communication with key decision makers or centers of influence; ensure CRM data is accurate and actionable. Support project teams through initiatives that build client and prospect relationships and community visibility. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, or related roles preferred. Knowledge of the construction/AEC industry and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and CRM software. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas effectively. Demonstrated ability to build networks for business referrals and participate in community and industry events. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team; attention to detail; ability to travel as needed. Ability to create, offer, and present proposals in a professional format. Understanding of diverse audiences and commitment to DEI and sustainability in project development and relationship management. Minimum Education and/or Experience
