Nokia
Overview
This team ensures the performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability of existing PIC products and leads the integration of new photonic chip designs into high-volume production. In this role, you will apply your expertise in data analysis, semiconductor device physics, photonics, and semiconductor processing to support product development, improve yield, and resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Ensure the quality and reliability of PIC products from prototype through production.
Analyze electrical and optical test data and correlate with device physics, fabrication processes, and reliability data to troubleshoot production-line issues and disposition materials.
Manage and track components for shipments, qualifications, and reliability assessments.
Support next-generation PIC platform development, with a focus on yield, cost, reliability, and performance during technology transfer and production ramp-up.
Lead or contribute to yield improvement and process optimization initiatives using data-driven approaches.
Maintain accurate documentation of engineering changes, production updates, and processes.
Qualifications
MS or PhD in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline.
Industry experience is a plus but not required; strong academic or research background in relevant areas is highly valued.
Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics, photonics, and semiconductor processing.
Familiarity with III-V process technologies and optoelectronic device characterization is beneficial.
Hands-on experience with semiconductor and photonic testing, metrology, or related tools.
Knowledge of failure analysis techniques and common failure modes in III-V semiconductor components is an asset.
Exposure to statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
Solid coding and data analysis skills using tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar. Familiarity with SQL or database systems is a plus but not required.
Experience with product development, quality assurance, or NPI is a plus.
Experience with SPC, Design for Manufacturing (DfM), and six-sigma principles for continuous improvement is also a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
What We Offer
A chance to contribute to cutting-edge photonic technologies in a globally recognized company.
A collaborative, innovative work environment with multidisciplinary technical teams.
The opportunity to directly impact the development of high-performance optical networking solutions at Nokia.
If you're passionate about advancing optical communication technology and eager to tackle challenging technical problems in PIC development, we invite you to apply.
