Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. LEAD TEST SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

Resolve test setup issues, and be able to prioritize and own scheduling for test stands/facilities Train end users on proper testing practices, and ensure safety within the testing locations Streamline existing and new test setups to minimize cost while improving quality and efficiency Support development and production builds as they pertain to usage of LVSA test cells Provide recommendations for tooling design and improvement, based on test experience and data Implement standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standard repair procedures, including review and approval of planning documents Develop robust plans to ensure that equipment and machine capacity is developed in line with test requirements, with a strong emphasis on long-term sustainability, spares, cleanliness, and safety Manage resources, plan, and interface with other production groups including external vendors, manufacturing engineers, and technicians. Production test support for structural tests of flight hardware Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of experimental and production flight hardware for master mock-ups, full scale operating models, and test assemblies Repair or replacement of flight hardware due to engineering design changes and test failures Bending and fabrication of stainless steel tubing used for hydraulic fluid and pneumatic lines for test Run a mill and lathe and be able to utilize a variety of pneumatic hand tools and precision measuring equipment BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience developing tooling such as form blocks, drill jigs, and shop aids 1 year of experience utilizing pneumatic hand tools and precision measuring equipment. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Extensive experience in structural assembly 1 year of experience setting up and running a mill and lathe Operating high-pressure test carts for pneumatic testing Experience running tests with Labview Some college classwork Knowledge/experience with actuators, plumbing (hydraulic/pneumatic – both set up and operation of these systems) Knowledge/experience with pressure systems-cryogenic (gaseous and liquid) Knowledge/experience with hydrostatic systems Knowledge/experience working with electrical components and/or systems ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel to different sites, as needed Must be able to work all shifts and position may require overtime and weekend work Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
