Overview
Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee the supplier base for KION North America. Strong interaction with the SQEs in all regions to perform PPAP with the North American suppliers. Responsibilities
Lead the overall Supplier Quality function for KION North America Supplier Audit and Supplier Approval Interface with Procurement, Purchasing, and Supplier Quality Performance team to ensure all suppliers meet the requirements for KION NA Purchasing part and process qualification & approval according to KION-PPAP Responsible for process and purchased part qualification and approval at the supplier Integration into projects for new component and trucks developments (quality requirements) Planning of initial sample tests - coordination of requirements and content with engineering and suppliers Carry out on-site inspections and approvals at suppliers as needed Coordinate assessment of the results & deviations Collection of documents, proofs and initial sample inspection reports from suppliers Initiate the inbound inspection planning for series parts Problem solving for purchase quality Work with suppliers to improve overall component quality through corrective and preventative action processes Initiate qualification programs at suppliers and trace degree of fulfillment Supplier evaluation Ensure information is collected and tracked to be used for ongoing supplier performance and KPI tracking Qualifications
Knowledge of PPAP procedure and additional quality tools like APQP, FMEA and experience in quality management systems ISO 9001 & TS 16949 5+ years of experience in supplier qualification programs and supplier process improvements (preferable Automotive industry) Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical components Strong communication and negotiating skills Special quality trainings (Poka Yoke, 8D, QFD preferable) Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel and Power Point Education
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required Seniority level
