LSB Industries is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Category Manager – MRO
to enhance our Procurement capabilities. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver the best overall value, including quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This role drives end-to-end sourcing, supplier management, and process improvement initiatives in collaboration with Corporate & Site stakeholders to deliver best value outcomes in support of safe, continuous & reliable manufacturing operations.
This position is on site in Oklahoma City, with
25% travel
to various sites.
Responsibilities & Duties
Leverage data analytics (spend analysis, cost/price benchmarking, etc.) and market intelligence to frame category sourcing opportunities and build alignment for initiatives.
Collaborate with Corporate and Site stakeholders across Engineering, Maintenance & Reliability, and Production Operations to define requirements (e.g., technical specifications, service levels) for RFx processes and agreements.
Plan and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for equipment, materials, and services that meet LSB’s requirements at the best overall value.
Facilitate evaluation of supplier proposals with Corporate/Site stakeholders through award recommendation.
Negotiate optimal commercial terms with suppliers to drive best overall value for LSB.
Draft and execute supply agreements in accordance with corporate policies and risk mitigation strategies.
Manage price lists to include loading into ERP and supporting platforms.
Manage Approved Supplier List for assigned categories and monitor compliance.
Review and disposition requested New Supplier Additions within assigned categories.
Monitor and manage supplier performance to include driving continuous quality improvement as well as implementing corrective action plans, as required, to address non-conformance issues.
Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in assigned MRO categories.
Assess risks within the supply chain(s) of assigned MRO categories and develop mitigation strategies & tactics to ensure continuity of supply.
Monitor and report on category performance, including benefits contribution (cost savings/avoidance), cost/price benchmarking, and supplier performance metrics.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field .
7-10 years
of experience in
Category Management/Procurement .
Preferred: Experience sourcing
MRO equipment, supplies, and services
in industries such as chemical plants, refineries, paper manufacturing or similar environments.
Expertise in end-to-end strategic sourcing , including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution.
Strategic mindset with
strong analytical skills
to identify and evaluate sourcing opportunities.
Proven experience in
leading negotiations
to secure optimal terms.
Technical and/or mechanical aptitude to understand
equipment applications
and collaborate with Engineering teams.
Ability to
influence decision-making
and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Strong
teamwork and collaboration
skills.
Ability to
challenge conventional practices
and drive positive change.
Highly
self-motivated
with a proactive approach to achieving results.
Ability to
thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
and remain effective under pressure.

Strong
