Primary Responsibilities
HDR's Transportation Engineer in the Dallas office will serve as a project manager or task leader for municipal or highway projects of various sizes and complexity. Responsibilities include preparing, designing, or producing elements of contract plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation-related civil engineering projects using applicable standards such as state, county, city, or other standards. Specific tasks involve Roadway Sections, Intersection Layout, Interchange Layout, Horizontal and Vertical Alignment, Right of Way Plans, Temporary Erosion Control Plans, Site Preparation Plans, Transportation Profiles, Retaining Wall Plans, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans, Paving, Pavement Marking Plans, Signing Plans, and Traffic Control Plans. The role also includes preparing or reviewing scopes, budgets, and schedules; writing reports and technical memorandums; coordinating with subconsultants; managing communication with clients; implementing project quality plans; and supporting junior engineers and technical staff.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or a related field with 3 years of transportation engineering experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure from any jurisdiction.
Experience in:
Design-Build projects
TxDOT projects
Street/arterial roadways
Urban and rural highway interchanges
Intersection design
Traffic management
Transportation planning
Site planning
Preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layouts, and CAD base alignment plans
Preparation of plan layouts and exhibits
3D modeling using MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, Geopak, and CAD design software
