Project Controls Specialist II

to join our team at our Atlanta, GA office. As a Project Control Specialist, you will provide critical support in project planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance tracking to ensure successful project execution within scope, budget, and schedule. This role is essential for maintaining accurate project data, conducting analysis, and developing reports that support decision-making at all organizational levels. Responsibilities

Scheduling & Planning:

Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools. Perform schedule variance analysis, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Conduct critical path analysis, resource leveling, and schedule risk assessments. Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Cost Control & Financial Management:

Track and monitor project budgets, expenditures, and commitments. Support cost forecasting, cash flow projections, and earned value management (EVM) reporting. Assist in managing funding requests, change orders, and cost variance analysis. Maintain accurate cost control databases and ensure alignment with contract terms and project goals. Project Performance & Reporting:

Develop and distribute project status reports, cost reports, and KPIs. Conduct variance analysis and trend reporting. Support risk management processes. Prepare executive-level reports summarizing schedule and cost performance. Document Control & Compliance:

Ensure accurate tracking of contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and documentation. Support audit and compliance efforts. Maintain change management logs. Collaboration & Communication:

Work with Project Managers, Engineers, Finance, and stakeholders. Participate in meetings, provide updates, and assist in training junior staff. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field. 5-7 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or cost engineering within construction, infrastructure, aviation, or transportation sectors. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Procore, and financial reporting tools is a plus. Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), Cost Control, and Risk Management. Ability to analyze complex data and present findings clearly.
