Overview

The Senior Development Manager is a key leadership position at the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County (BGCLC), responsible for driving the implementation of BGCLC’s fundraising strategy to support its mission. This role focuses on building sustainable revenue streams, enhancing donor engagement, and ensuring the success of fundraising efforts by overseeing donor relations, fundraising events, databasing, communications, recording and coding incoming deposits, and providing additional essential support to the development team. Responsibilities

Reach the assigned fundraising goal Build and maintain relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and key stakeholders, ensuring consistent and personalized engagement. Assist in executing BGCLC’s overall fundraising strategy, focusing on donors, corporate sponsorships, and special campaigns. Collaborate with the Development Team to develop and ensure donor programs to foster continuous engagement and donor retention. Coordinate the creation of donor-facing materials, including brochures, impact reports, newsletters, and event invitations. Maintain and update donor and sponsor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Track donor communications and provide regular updates to the CDO on progress toward fundraising goals. Manage sponsorships for events, building and nurturing long-term relationships with sponsors before, during, and after events. Creation and management of Gala and Golf committees, with a focus on securing sponsorship. Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive and aligned messaging across all communications that reflect BGCLC’s mission and values. Track and report on the effectiveness of fundraising activities, donor engagement, and event performance. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

At least 3-7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, event management, engaging/ cultivating corporate sponsorship, and donor relations. Proven success in engaging corporate sponsorship, cultivating mid-level donors, managing donor relationships, and executing fundraising events. Strong Presentation Skills and ability to present to groups virtually and in person. Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders at all levels. Ability and previous experience leading Tours of sites and facilities, both virtually and in person. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, drive, and problem-solving ability. Passion for the mission of BGCLC, with the ability to align fundraising goals with the broader vision of empowering youth. Strong knowledge of donor management systems (CRM) and experience with data-driven fundraising strategies. Adaptability in a dynamic environment and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced team setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital communication platforms (email, social media, etc.). Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in youth-focused organizations, is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Diversity - Fosters an inclusive environment by respecting cultural differences, promoting diversity, and ensuring all voices are valued within the team and donor base. HRIS Management – Will manage at a basic level the ADP HR and payroll system for personal matters and direct report s. (Training to be provided) (*Future) Supervisory – Will supervise the Community Engagement and Volunteer Specialist. Will supervise up to one college intern per semester, including supervision, documentation, and sign-offs. (reviewed and doubly signed by CDO) Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to lift 25 lbs. for event setup and other activities. Occasional travel is required for donor meetings, events, conferences, and site visits. Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
