Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated & experienced Registered Nurse for an Assistant Director position on the Mother Baby Unit at Monmouth Medical Center. This is a great opportunity for entry level Management, assisting the Director to manage the Mother Baby Unit.

Qualifications Required:
Nursing Degree
At least one year Mother Baby experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Certifications and Licenses Required:
BLS and ACLS & NRP certification
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Preferred:
BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
Previous Management experience
Specialty Certification
Scheduling Requirements:

Essential Functions
The Assistant Director provides nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Assists in directing and supervising all functions and activities in a patient care setting. Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed. Ensures safety in practice by maintaining awareness of own knowledge and experience and advances knowledge of self and others of the patient care team through communication with and utilization of resource persons and programs.
Utilizes the nursing process in all aspects of care, individualizing the plan of care to address specific patient needs. Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate personnel and sets and evaluates performance. Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in assigning staff labor.
Has knowledge of the patient population served and adherence to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. Maintains safety in practice and supports evidence-based practice by continuous learning and communication with resource persons and programs.
Identifies safety issues (e.g., hazardous environments) and reports medical errors as applicable.
Makes recommendations regarding ongoing performance evaluation of supervised staff and actions (e.g., reward, discipline, discharge).
Ensures that the Mother Baby Unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
