Senior Staff Frontend Engineer, Marketplace Role Overview We’re searching for a seasoned Senior Staff Frontend Engineer to help define, build, and scale the next generation of high-impact, user-facing web applications. This role sits at the intersection of product, design, and engineering—where you’ll not only shape critical features but also establish architectural direction, engineering standards, and long-term strategy for web experiences used by millions. As a technical leader, you’ll be a mentor, a thought partner, and a hands-on builder driving excellence across the Marketplace domain. What You’ll Do Architect and deliver highly performant, accessible, and scalable React applications and shared component libraries powering key user workflows. Lead major cross-team projects, guiding architectural evolution, implementing best practices, and ensuring sustainable technical growth. Identify weaknesses in existing frontend systems and spearhead initiatives to modernize, simplify, and improve reliability. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate complex requirements into intuitive, polished user interfaces. Serve as a mentor and role model, elevating engineering quality through thoughtful code reviews, design discussions, and coaching. Champion standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and performance optimization, ensuring a culture of engineering excellence. Partner with QA, accessibility, and analytics teams to ensure experiences are inclusive, stable, and optimized across platforms and devices. Balance innovation with pragmatism—helping teams ship impactful features quickly while building for long-term maintainability. What You’ll Bring 10+ years of professional experience in frontend or full-stack engineering, with proven expertise building and scaling production React applications. Advanced knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, with hands-on experience using modern frontend frameworks and tooling. Track record of leading large-scale product development efforts with broad visibility and cross-functional impact. Deep understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), and web performance fundamentals such as Core Web Vitals. Strong problem-solving and systems thinking skills—able to trace issues across layers and deliver robust, long-lasting solutions. Ability to collaborate seamlessly with design and product teams, influencing product direction and shaping user experience strategy. Excellent communication skills with the ability to align teams, share context, and influence decisions across multiple stakeholders.
