Our ideal candidate for a Traveling Senior Project Manager is someone who has

5+

years of experience as a Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or General Construction Project Manager and is willing to travel a minimum of 15-25% of the time. They will be personable, high energy, and will bring a strong sense of leadership, direction, and commitment to our projects. Primary responsibilities for iENG’s Traveling Senior Project Manager include: Managing and leading complex mechanical projects involving HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical pipe systems from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients. Leading all project team members and subcontractors with proficient communication skills. Ensuring site safety compliance and requirements are executed – including, but not limited to, site-specific safety plans, audits, pick plans, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning. Coordinating with the entire project team of engineering, VDC (BIM), scheduler, subcontractors, and customers to develop permit drawings, update progress drawings, generate record drawings, and establish overall build plan for project scope. Ensuring that the plans, specifications, and details of the project, and materials have been delivered and are being installed based on the approved submittals and RFIs. Managing and providing coaching to develop other Project Managers on the team. Managing and building Bid Packages for prospective subcontractors. Vetting, selecting, and coordinating subcontractors through defining their scope of work, then preparing, and issuing contracts, managing changes, and planning their schedule. Developing advanced project schedules for all contracted scopes. Managing the financial budget and forecasting of the project from start to finish. Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients (Owners, General Contractors, Vendors, and Subcontractors). Ensuring contractual conditions of performance are met. Primary qualifications for iENG’s Traveling Senior Project Manager include: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or General Construction is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or proven experience in the Mechanical Construction industry is required. Ability to travel a minimum of 15-25% of the time. Opportunities to travel as much as full time on-site depending on project needs and candidate's desire to travel. Strong knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards. Familiarity with construction management software packages (Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, BlueBeam, P6, Microsoft Project, Viewpoint is preferred, and Autodesk is a plus) – overall strong computer skills are preferred. Self-motivated with excellent time, leadership, and project management skills. Possesses a strong personal commitment to long-term and meaningful goals. Demonstrates confidence in their knowledge and is committed to researching the answers to find the right solutions for things they do not know.
