Georgia-Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement ("SS&P") organization has an immediate opening in the CPG division for a Purchasing Manager supporting our Savannah, GA facility reporting to the Regional Purchasing Manager. This person manages the local purchasing function, supervises personnel in this area, and will lead change, manage priorities, and develop the SS&P organization to deliver both short and long-term value within a high volume, time-critical environment.
This role will be on-site at the Savannah River Mill facility in Rincon, GA.
What You Will Do
Multi-task as supervisor that provides on-going coaching and feedback but also acts as a task performer to assist as needed with the team. Uses an approach to stop, think and ask questions. Manage purchasing operations across the facility with high spend. Build partnerships within the facility and across capabilities to create value for GP. Lead a team of purchasing professionals to excellence in safety, health and environmental compliance, total cost of ownership of goods and services, competitively advantaged agreements and process efficiency. Lead the overall direction and management of strategic procurement for all local material spend, while partnering with customers, to ensure the creation of maximum value in quality, cost, reliability, and delivery. Manage and support procurement processes, including negotiations and contract creation. Partner with mill operations teams to ensure procurement processes are reliable and support defined asset strategies. Develop strong category partnerships, aligning with and managing strategic initiatives, commitments and supply chain strategies. Interface with the mill leadership teams pertaining to business initiatives and value drivers. Work with requestors to understand requirements, specifications, and timing; conduct competitive bidding processes, including soliciting RFIs/RFPs and robust bid analysis and recommendations. Manage and improve the procure-to-pay process (including invoice reconciliation management) and train internal customers on their roles in these processes as needed. Work with key leaders in the mill to drive proper work processes. Set department goals and lead improvements across the supply function and within the facility. Work with internal customers to identify and address unmet needs that align with procurement and business unit goals to deliver long-term value. Collaborate with cross-functional teams at the facility and headquarters to implement corporate initiatives. Act as a key member of the leadership team at Savannah River Mill. Set the team’s standard by exemplifying the use of a principle-based framework, and ensure the team consistently applies it to guide their actions. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Minimum 3 years purchasing experience Supervisory experience, including hiring new talent and coaching/mentoring existing teams Must be available for on-call rotations including nights, weekends, and holidays What Will Put You Ahead
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Engineering 5+ years of purchasing experience Negotiations, risk assessment and contract management experience Diverse experience with different commodities and commodity management (parts and services) MRO purchasing and/or storeroom management experience Experience working in a manufacturing environment At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
