Georgia Pacific Georgia-Pacific is excited to offer an opportunity for a talented Process Safety Engineer at our Wauna Paper Mill in Clatskanie, Oregon. Reporting to the Chemical Process Safety Manager, you will be an integral part of the process safety team, driving value-based strategies, providing technical expertise, and influencing leadership in process safety, product stewardship, and compliance. This role involves a mix of fieldwork at the mill and office-based responsibilities. What You Will Do

Develop your technical and leadership capabilities by managing risk assessment strategies, participating in Risk Assessments (PHAs, Project Design Reviews, Design Operation and Maintenance, Prevention through Design), and maintaining process safety guidelines and risk assessment tools, including expertise with the Chemical Reactivity Hazard Management electronic tool. Lead by influence through facilitating group discussions, knowledge sharing, presentations, and fostering process safety ownership across the organization via leadership, coordination, and coaching aligned with risk-based process safety and Principal Based Management. Assist Safety & Health leadership in developing and implementing short- and long-term process safety objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks. Analyze process safety incidents and near misses to ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented, providing detailed technical direction to enhance process safety performance. Review and provide metrics to monitor process safety compliance and evaluate training systems for effectiveness, recommending improvements as needed. Coordinate engineering review capabilities for process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR). Oversee the mill’s process safety information, including P&IDs, PFDs, chemical compatibility matrices, and serve as a mentor to technical and hourly employees to embed process safety as a core mission for continuous operational improvement. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments. Background in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or safety-focused technical roles (ex: process safety, process engineering, mechanical integrity, or reliability within PSM-regulated operations). Experience with Process Safety regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.119 and 40 CFR 68. What Will Put You Ahead

Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Pulp and Paper Experience. Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA). At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
