Position Overview We are seeking a
Structural Supervising Discipline Engineer (SDE)
to support nuclear plant modification projects in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities include developing nuclear plant modification packages and managing larger efforts with a team of structural engineers.
What You'll Do
Design, analyze, and develop structural modifications for nuclear power plants.
Lead larger structural engineering efforts, supervising engineering and design personnel to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
Utilize your PE license to sign and seal structural drawings developed under your supervision.
Coordinate interdisciplinary teams of engineers and designers to complete project tasks efficiently.
Review relevant codes, procedures, design documents, specifications, and construction documents.
Perform structural calculations, develop engineering reports, studies, specifications, and design drawings.
Develop material and workhour estimates, as well as engineering and design schedules.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
At least 10 years of relevant experience supporting nuclear modification work.
Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering and design staff.
Proficiency with engineering software such as STAAD Pro, MathCad, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
PE license in the US.
Experience with seismic analysis and design for nuclear structures.
Experience with ANSYS and SAP2000 is a plus.
Experience working with Duke Energy (Nuclear) is a plus.
