Job Description
The full-time Maintenance Generalist II will support the demands of the Institute’s maintenance operations and perform general maintenance services and repairs, including welding, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and locksmith duties.

Maintenance Generalist II
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Build and install shelves, cabinets, lab tops, doors, and desk keyboard trays; hang signs, pictures, and boards; repair door hinges, knobs, and closures.
Assist with event setup and general repairs.
Replace ballasts, electrical outlets, light switches, and bulbs; hang light fixtures; repair or replace frayed power cords and plugs.
Inspect sinks, drinking fountains, urinals, toilets, unclog drains, install pipes, and perform light repairs on sinks and disposals.
Replace floor and ceiling tiles and caulk around bathroom fixtures.
Work with lab support equipment such as hoods, incubators, freezers, and move equipment and furniture as needed.
Respond to emergency calls and equipment alarms, evaluate problems, and make repairs or request specialists.
Maintain inventory of supplies and estimate labor and material costs for work requests.
Perform routine work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
Accurately record hours worked and tasks completed using the Facilities CMMS, BAS software, and Footprints work order system.
Interpret blueprints and specifications for installation or repairs.
Expected Salary
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Vocational/technical training may substitute for experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in research, hospital, or university settings.
Experience with plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, or welding.
Trade experience in plumbing, electrical, pipefitting, HVAC, etc., with strong communication skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Availability on holidays, weekends, and for emergency responses.
