Install and repair fences to specification including welding, gate construction, concrete work, setting posts and installing hardware. Demonstrate the ability to fabricate and repair various types of window guards and handrails. Estimate materials and procure the proper materials and supplies for completion of the work order. Maintain accurate records for labor, materials, work order completion and other Maintenance records. Identify and resolve various maintenance repair problems related to the fence craft. Operate hand/power tools and equipment required in the craft using good safety practices. Maintain assigned tools, equipment and supplies. Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, district staff, and all other auxiliary services personnel in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair, and complete each job or project. Report observed maintenance problems that require action of other Maintenance departments. Operate all equipment required to powder coat various items. Demonstrate initiative in relation to the position, including job planning through job completion. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned. Accredited High School Diploma or USA equivalency. Two (2) years of experience in the craft. Demonstrated technical knowledge/skills to set string line, mix and pour concrete, set corner posts, lace and stretch fence wire to various types of fences required in the position. Demonstrated technical knowledge, skills and ability to weld and build gates, install brace, tension bars, and security fences and install fencing hardware as required for the position. Demonstrated technical knowledge to read blueprints. Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision. Must maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and driving record that meets District standards Must pass a Dallas ISD random drug test
