Responsibilities
Inspect air‑conditioning units to ensure efficient operation.
Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions; install, replace or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic control.
Install new heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn HVAC parts and equipment; repair or replace low and high pressure liquid lines.
Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of units and make necessary adjustments; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs and heat pumps.
Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems.
Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; clean coils and blowers and check motors and belt tensions.
Assemble and install metal ductwork.
Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air‑conditioning systems.
Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State and EPA regulations.
Flexible to work weekends and after‑hours events.
Perform other duties as requested.
Experience & Knowledge
High School / G.E.D.
Two (2) years’ commercial experience as HVAC Technician.
Principles and practices of HVAC maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade.
HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate MSDS sheets; tools of the trade; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems.
Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air‑conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigerated cooling.
