What to Expect As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for critical component development, quality management, continuous improvement, qualification activities at suppliers and for managing the incoming quality program. The job requires effective communication at all levels both with internal and external teams, conducting failure analysis, leading statistical process control activities for critical components, process development, First Article Inspection planning and execution and on-the-spot critical decision making.

What You'll Do

Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, Statistical Process Control, scorecards, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans

Based on performance and business needs, set priorities for cross functional teams and suppliers

Develop positive relationships and work closely with Supply Chain Team to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions

First Article Inspection planning and execution and development, implementation and management of incoming quality processes

Track and manage Supplier Corrective Action Request process within the manufacturing environment working closely with Supply Chain organization and suppliers

Provide leadership and guidance during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on supplier development and improvement

Perform root cause analysis, coordinate, and conduct specialized testing and measurement

Plan, organize, direct and report all activities and matters relating to supplier performance; Assess supplier qualifications status

Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality

What You'll Bring

Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience

Six Sigma or ASQ certification is preferred

Experience in Quality Systems is preferred

Experience and knowledge of PPAP/APQP processes

In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and sampling inspection

Knowledge in Statistics, Statistical Process Control and data mining and analysis

Possess demonstrable leadership abilities and previous experience managing safety critical parts

Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level with proven results in meeting customer requirements

Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques

Strong verbal and written communication skills
