Responsibilities

Provides leadership in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency throughout the department.

Monitors production and labor efficiencies to ensure company standards are met and maintains proper production practices.

Direct supervision of four Production Supervisors.

Directs all production activities through the Production Supervisors, coordinates interdepartmental activities with other department managers.

Plans department expense budget and the method of operation to remain within the budget, assuring cost control and improvement projects.

Monitors and controls labor, regrind levels, and material variances.

Determines proper utilization of workforce based on production demands.

Conducts daily production meetings and communicates with all departments to direct support group activities.

Adheres to quality standards established by the Company to maintain customer satisfaction.

Trains and develops production personnel.

Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.

Initiates action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.

Serves as the back up to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

Five or more years experience leading a manufacturing department with proven results.

Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.

Bachelor's Degree in Management/Business preferable.

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experience in manufacturing supervisory role with a proven track record in leading manufacturing teams.

Experience with Quality Systems and Programs.

Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5S, World Class Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.

Ability to work flexible hours, which may include holidays and weekends.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
