Overview

As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of material handling systems. You will take on complex projects, develop training programs, and drive standardization initiatives. This role encompasses mechanical, controls, and the ability to learn rudimentary software used to operate the material handling system to ensure optimal operation. Responsibilities

Uses troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings. Creates and reviews Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents. Follows preventive maintenance programs. Engages in troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis. Collaborates with cross-functional teams on technology integration. Conducts audits and inspections for compliance and quality assurance. Analyzes performance data and identifies process optimization opportunities. Complies with all Daifuku policies and procedures. Conducts Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI. Executes PLC ladder code changes using Rockwell RSLogix 5000 family IDEs. Utilizes AutoCAD for reviewing, developing, and maintaining electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings. Documents and communicates control system and equipment configuration changes. On-call availability as needed. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; preferred 2-year professional electrical training or bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field. Minimum 4 years of experience in Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI. 3-4 years of experience in the material handling industry or equivalent. Advanced experience with CMMS platforms and PLCs, with basic software knowledge. Minimum 3 years of experience with material handling technology. At least 3 years of experience with AutoCAD for control layout design and schematics. Working knowledge of handheld and power tools. Advanced knowledge of PLCs and motor control. Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls defects. Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot all material handling equipment and components. Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Knowledge of safe industrial work practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service orientation. Ability to lead, teach, and contribute to a team. Advanced computer skills including MS Office.
