Department Overview Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electrical services to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Electric Operations Construction Management is responsible for the construction, project and contract management of PG&E’s electric distribution overhead and underground facilities.
Position Summary Develops and oversees company-wide safety policies, procedures, and programs with a strong emphasis on
contractor oversight, field safety, and incident response readiness . Provides subject matter expertise across multiple safety disciplines and ensures alignment with regulatory requirements, organizational safety goals, and PG&E’s Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS).
Leads initiatives to advance
PSEMS maturity , drive continuous improvement, and strengthen safety culture across both employees and contractors. Partners with lines of business to implement safety programs, advises on procedure development, and ensures effective oversight of contractor performance in the field. Directs process and procedure development, implementation, and communication to support safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
Disclosure PG&E is providing the salary range that can be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.
The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

$194,000

$244,000
Job Responsibilities
Provides leadership and oversight of
contractor safety performance , including monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and ensuring alignment with PG&E’s safety standards and expectations.
Oversees the investigation of root causes for incidents and near misses, ensuring timely
field safety response
and development of corrective actions to resolve deficiencies.
Develops department performance expectations and goals that align with line of business and Company goals, with a focus on
contractor management and field safety outcomes .
Creates and drives safety strategy that achieves business objectives, ensuring initiatives are consistent with regulatory requirements and advancing the
maturity of PG&E’s Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS) .
Establishes and reviews benchmarking internally and externally for analysis, continuous improvement, or other projects. Supports and implements the S1/S2 process.
Develops, oversees, and implements policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to support business operating plans and goals, with emphasis on
field safety practices and incident response protocols .
Translates functional goals into programs/projects with significant business impact. Interfaces with regulatory agencies and other outside entities regarding requirements.
Provides leadership and support in development of business planning and strategy for program design. Achieves department goals and improves business results.
Champions a culture of safety accountability across employees and contractors, ensuring
effective communication, training, and readiness for incident response in the field
Qualifications Minimum:
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Eight (8) years of Job-related experience
Three (3) years of Leadership experience
Desired:
Masters Degree or equivalent experience
Utility industry experience, job-related
Experience in maintenance and construction
Experience in operations
CUSP-Certified Utility Safety Professional certification
CIH-Certified Industrial Hygienist certification
CSP-Certified Safety Professional certification
