Field Service Technician
for a full-time role based in
Elgin, IL . This position involves nationwide travel to support customers with on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial gear drives and related equipment. Key Responsibilities
Perform on-site service and maintenance for gear drives and transmission systems Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions Disassemble and inspect components, document findings, and prepare reports Work directly with customer personnel during field assignments Operate tools and equipment including cranes, forklifts, presses, and power tools Requirements
10+ years’ experience in power transmission, heavy equipment, or wind gearbox systems 5+ years in a field service or similar hands-on technical role Strong mechanical skills; able to read blueprints and technical documents Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Able to travel frequently, including weekends and short notice Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Preferred
MSHA Part 46/48 certification Wind energy or military/industrial maintenance background Crane and rigging experience How to Apply
