ERA Structural Engineering ERA seeks a motivated Structural Engineer who is interested in growing a rewarding career. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for working with a variety of clients, including architects, owners, and contractors, to create structural designs and construction documents within a team setting. You will coordinate with project partners and assist with executing the structural design. You will deliver accurate project plans on time and within budget, and you will perform structural analysis using current software and design structural systems with concrete, steel, timber, and other materials. You will collaborate with project partners and clients to solve complex problems with a service-minded approach and coordinate with the internal team on design drawings and report preparation. You will provide guidance to less experienced engineers, review the work of other engineers and BIM modelers, and work with construction partners to ensure a smooth construction process. Managing project workload and assisting with staffing needs are also critical aspects of this role, contributing to the overall success of our projects.ERA offers support and training for engineers in this position to develop as professionals, including internal continuing education programs, mentorship, and opportunities to grow a professional network through professional associations, client engagement, and marketing/business development collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Project Coordination: Perform structural analysis and design of buildings using concrete, steel, timber and other materials; oversee and coordinate project milestones; attend internal kickoff meetings and external coordination meetings; develop designs for structural systems and project specifications; manage project scope, budgets, and timelines.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

Maintain project documentation, ensuring all deliverables – calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports – are accurate and up to date; review and approve internal design documents, drawings, and calculations; coordinate and schedule internal quality reviews and ensure project deliverables undergo interdisciplinary coordination; communicate discrepancies or scope changes to the Project Manager.

Construction Support

Evaluate special inspection reports and address deviations from design documents; oversee the review of shop drawings and submittals; support construction partners in resolving field issues to avoid project delays.

Administrative & Client-Facing Duties

Read and interpret project proposals to understand scope, schedule, and budget; engage with clients to confirm expectations are aligned; work with the Project Manager and team to align engineering tasks with budgeted hours and project priorities; engage in legacy knowledge transfer to ensure continuity of client relationships; help ensure repeat business by understanding and delivering on client values.

Hours

Full Time - Exempt In–Person Core Office Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday Friday Flex – 9:00am-12:00pm

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, at ABET-accredited university PE Licensed Excellent oral, written communication/presentation skills 4-7 years’ experience in structural engineering Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to pay close attention to detail, while working with a team to deliver high quality of work Proficient with structural engineering software, such as RAM, RISA3-D and SAP2000 Experience in steel, concrete, and other material design
