Royal Caribbean Group’s Global Marine Operations Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Manager, Technical Hotel Maintenance reporting to the AVP, Refurbishment and Hotel Maintenance. This position will work onsite in Miami, Florida Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the fleet in all aspects related to hotel technical systems such as laundry equipment, catering equipment, recreational water facilities, USPH compliance related to the hotel technical facilities and equipment, domestic piping systems, and other technical accommodation systems. The support ranges from day-to-day operational support to managing large-scale replacement projects as part of our equipment lifecycle management strategy. Additionally, this role involves managing the financial performance of the fleet in collaboration with the shipboard leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide the fleet with day-to-day technical support. Support in emergencies related to hotel technical equipment. Develop and implement long-term strategies, goals, and plans for maintaining key systems in the fleet. Maintain a good understanding of the current condition of onboard equipment and systems. Maintain the 5-year capital plan, considering equipment lifecycle and drydocking schedules. Monitor and analyze trends in unplanned maintenance, communicate with shipboard leadership, and report findings from management systems. Recommend solutions to address negative trends. Manage the financial performance of the fleet, review requisitions for completeness, necessity, and pricing. Research and develop replacement strategies for aging or obsolete technologies, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and present findings. Identify potential savings related to fleet spare part inventories. Participate in the development of Riding Crew Teams and evaluate their performance. Assess shipboard leadership performance, identify learning opportunities, and collaborate with HR on training programs. Work closely with key stakeholders such as fleet management, hotel operations, safety, environment, and risk management. Participate in recruitment activities for shipboard leadership and personnel. Lead key fleet objectives such as energy efficiency, public health, and workplace safety. Manage operational costs related to Hotel Maintenance, ensuring budget compliance. Develop scope and manage budgets for lifecycle and upgrade projects for the fleet. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, with a focus on Project Management and/or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience. Experienced Hotel Maintenance Manager/Chief Engineer candidates may also be considered. Relevant experience as a Marine/Mechanical Engineer, preferably with a shipping company, classification society, or similar organization. Minimum five years in a managerial role with multiple direct reports or in managing complex industrial projects. Proven success in project completion and financial management. Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time. Proficiency in Maritime Engineering and understanding of onboard systems (HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.). Understanding of shipboard operations and environment. Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to make quick decisions and manage crises effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of industry regulations like SOLAS, USPH, and classification requirements. Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, and AMOS.
