The Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for providing strong technical skills and knowledge of modern control systems in an industrial environment. This position will design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems to improve reliability and optimize operations.
What you'll do
Design and deploy new automation strategies on existing systems.
Decode and document existing PLC/DCS logic.
Develop and modify HMI platforms utilizing High Performance HMI concepts.
Develop control specifications for operational improvements.
Support capital projects from an automation standpoint by providing expertise in hardware and software requirements.
Design, develop, and program PLC code based on requirements and specifications.
Troubleshoot industrial control network issues, requiring knowledge of network fundamentals and modern network technologies.
Develop a robust alarm management system.
Support the management of OSI PI Historians.
What you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
2+ years of experience with industrial electrical/machine control systems.
Advanced knowledge of PLC programming: Rockwell Automation RS Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench or similar.
Knowledge of HMI systems such as Rockwell Automation Factory Talk View Studio SE/ME or comparable software.
Experience with modern DCS platforms such as Yokogawa.
Experience in designing and implementing PLC-based process control systems.
Knowledge of network and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, fiber optics, Modbus, ControlNet).
Experience with industrial signals, hardware design, troubleshooting, and implementation.
Knowledge of motion control systems, including servo applications.
