Mechanical Field Service Engineer – Industrial Generators
We are seeking a field service engineer to join our BRUSH field team and provide mechanical repair services for generators, motors, and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
Providing mechanical generator inspection, maintenance and repair in line with OEM standards.
Stripping down, rebuilding large generators and related equipment; fault finding and rectifying as necessary, and overhauling and cleaning.
Installing and commissioning large turbo‑driven generators, synchronous condensers, and motors (up to approximately 200‑ton) onto prepared foundations.
Carrying out mechanical alignment checks, basic electrical tests, and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical and laser‑based systems.
Interpreting specifications and technical requirements; preparing method statements and detailed reports for customers; attending technical meetings on site.
Providing assistance to winding specialists on in‑situ winding repairs/rewinds, where training may be required.
Supervising and training customers’ site personnel.
Conducting on‑site risk assessments for every assignment and recording details.
Qualifications
Technical degree from an accredited school and 3+ years of field service experience.
Proficiency with tooling such as hydraulic tensioners, hydraulic rams, basic hand tools, pneumatic impact drivers, multi‑meters, megger, rigging, generator specialty tooling, calipers, and precision measurement equipment.
Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally 75% – 85% of the time or as business needs dictate.

Salary: $55,000 – $90,000 per year + potential bonuses.
