Role Summary As the Release Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting a global engineering operations team function that will maintain vehicle software updates and fleet health data for today and tomorrow. Specifically, this role will manage, monitor, and support vehicle software update campaigns and associated fleet health management data. This role sits within vehicle software engineering with cross-functional visibility and is a ground floor opportunity to develop streamlined and automated processes for managing vehicle software updates.
Responsibilities
Ensure robust software update support for all consumer and commercial vehicles by proactively managing software updates and anomalies across Rivian’s global fleet.
Assist and track OTA software update campaigns and associated processes across Rivian’s global fleet.
Deploy, design, and implement analytics solutions and deploy innovative offerings that facilitate fleet health user experience for software updates.
Predict, test, and validate OTA and vehicle telematics solutions end-to-end in partnership with Rivian Engineering and other teams.
Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design to onboard and validate new OTA integrations, solutions, and features prior to release to production.
Perform data analysis to maintain and monitor fleet health across the Rivian fleet.
Qualifications
3+ years working as a technical/operations engineer within the IoT, fleet management/wireless/networking, or connected car/EV industries
Experience with IoT solutions involving complex OTA campaigns and fleet management software lifecycle management
Experience with automated data analysis and Big Data platforms (Databricks or Snowflake/Redshift)
Experience with scripting in Python/PySpark, JavaScript or similar automation languages
Experience writing SQL queries to support business intelligence objectives
Experience with AWS/cloud technologies; CI/CD pipelines is preferred
Cross-functional experience with engineering, design, and service/customer support
Pay Disclosure Salary ranges vary by location:
Palo Alto: $105,100 - $131,400
Irvine: $96,700 - $120,900
Vancouver: 77,400 CAD - 96,800 CAD
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
