You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.# **A Day in the Life**As a Weld Engineer within Manufacturing Operations at Medtronic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and reliability of laser and resistance welding processes utilized in the production of batteries used in life-saving cardiac devices.
You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining welding techniques, equipment, and procedures to meet stringent regulatory and quality standards. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Process Development, and Device Design & Reliability you will contribute to process improvements, troubleshooting, and the integration of new welding technologies to enhance manufacturing performance.Key responsibilities include performing root cause analyses for welding-related issues, qualifying new welding processes, and ensuring compliance with Medtronic’s quality systems and industry regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of materials science, welding metallurgy, and automated welding systems, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing operations. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
